Collection: Fine Motor
Fine motor skills begin developing from birth, first with the reflexes babies are born with, all the way to being able to write, use scissors and dress themselves.
Fine motor muscles are the small muscles in the wrist, hands and fingers that help to control those finer manipulations of tools. Fine motor includes strength, dexterity and control and can also include the elbow and shoulder as all are important to assist in that control.
Below are a few tools that assist in strengthening fine motor skills. However please also see art/craft tab, puzzles, games, activity sets, sensory play as these are also great resources. Active engagement in everyday life is essential first and foremost in developing these skills. Eating, dressing, holding, pressing, pushing are all the foundation of refining these fine motor skills.
